One of the biggest trends I have seen on Instagram in the past year is what I call "The Instagram Quote Card." The Instagram Quote Card is a post that has a quote embedded directly within the photo, rather than used as a caption.

The stories I watch on Instagram have become increasingly flooded with shares of quote cards from different accounts on Instagram. From personal experience, whenever I see a quote that speaks to my life experiences, I have an overwhelming urge to share it so that others might relate to it too. These quote cards usually have unique graphic design elements to them such as interesting fonts or aesthetically pleasing color choice, other times they are as simple as quotes projected onto every day objects like in the image you see below.

The Instagram Quote Card is a great way for your brand to be shared by others while also spreading positivity or wisdom.

Instagram quote cards can also be used to spread awareness, encourage action, and address times of uncertainty all while staying on brand. One of my favorite examples of this is from the company Outdoor Voices, a recreational apparel company. They recently posted a quote card on Instagram in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and encouraged people to speak up and fight against oppression. They were able to play on their brand name while being a force for good. This was one of the many posts that I repeatedly saw shared to Instagram stories.

If you are struggling for content ideas, Instagram quote cards are a way to fill your feed with relevant content that your followers are more likely to engage with and share. I see more people posting quotes to their Instagram stories than posting pictures of products.

I have followed many instagram accounts thanks to people sharing posts onto their Instagram stories. We trust our friends more than we trust companies, so when we see our friends repost something to their story we are more likely to be interested in what they have to say.

Here are some of my favorite Instagram quote accounts to follow:
